FUSED SILICA 0.22NA OPTICAL
FIBERS
Low and high OH step index fused
silica fibers transmit throughout the UV/Vis/NIR range. low OH fiber
are used for Vis/NIR applications, and high OH are used for UV/Vis
(see attenuation curves for specific data). These fibers have a
fused silica core and cladding, and a polymer buffer for added
protection. Fiber diameters of 100um –600um feature a high
temperature, high strength polyimide buffer, while the 1mm fibers
are buffered with nylon.

Temperature tolerance:
Polyimide buffered fibers:
-190C
to +385C.
Nylon buffered fibers:
-40C to
+100C.
